Clynes, Labour member for Manchester East, speaking at a demonstration. at Manchester, said the coming conference between Government and Opposition leaders regarding tho existing Constitutional crisis, implies a concession. Ho continued: —"It surely means a, compromise. We can make no concession; wo cannot consent to a compromise." Mr. Philip Snowden, .Labour member for Blackburn, during the course of a speech in his constituency, said tho conference would only be justifiable by its success. "If,"- he continued, "the peopleV rights are betrayed once more during tho present generation, Democrats "will never again have faith in any professions cf .democracy on the part of official Liberalism." Mr. A. Bonar Law, Conservative member for the Dulwich Division of Camberwell, in the course of a speech, at West Hartlepool, TemaTked:— ,fWhatcver changes' are necessary can only como by that evolution through which our Parliamentary institutions havo grown, making them so flexible and strong."
