POWERS AND CRETE.
JOINT OCCUPATION SUGGESTED. RUSSIA FORESEES TROUBLE. WARSHIPS TO ASSEMBLE. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright. St. Petersburg, June 19. Foreseeing trouble and the ultimato re-occupation 'of Crete, Russia has informally suggested that . the Protecting Powers (Britain, France, Russia, and Italy) should forthwith send sufficient military forces to install a provisional regime under their (the Powers') direction, and thus appease the present feeling. Each of the Protecting Powers will send two warships to Crete. RUSSIAN VIEWS. KING OF'GREECE REPORTED FAVOURABLE. (Rec. June 20, 9.30 p.m.) St. Petersburg, June 20. It' is stated hero thnt the King of Greece welcomes tho proposal of the Russian Foreign Minister, M. Isvolsky, for the reoccupation of Crete by the Powers. The newspaper "Novoe Vremya" says the proposal renders a calm settlement possible, and in view of the seriousness of the situation ought to commend itself to tho Powers. . Its execution, adds the journal, would involve Russia in an expenditure of millions, which, liowever, that country would regard as a premium to ensure peace in the Balkans. GREEK GOODS BOYCOTTED.

Advices from various Turkish ports state that the peaceablo boycott of Greek goods by the merchants 'continues, and will bo carried on until tho Cretan .question is solved. FRANCO-TURKISH AMITY. SPEECH BY M. PICHON. (Rec. June 20, 9.30 p.m.) Paris, Juno 20. The' Franco-Ottoman League of Paris has banqueted the Ottoman mission. M. Pichon, the French Foreign Minister, in a most friendly speech regarding the unity of views of Franco and Turkey, said the union of their material interests was of importance k to Turkey's future.
