COURSING.
As the time for Hie rnnning of the Waterloo Cup, which takes place on the Plumpton ground, at Terrace End, Palinerston, commencing on June 23, 24, and 25, approaches, interest, becomes more keen. If nil the dngs nominated accept, the stake will almost: fill, which will be a record. Tlio stake for the cup alone is 0110 of 150 sovs., and with this goes a cup valued at 40 guineas, presented by Messrs. Darratid and Abraham. In addition there are the Waterloo Purse J2GO, and the Waterloo Plate, ,£SO. Mi\ A. 11. Rogers, of the Royal Hotel, the secretary of the local club, is makin l * things move along. Mr. .T. 1(. Sewoll, of Oamaru, one of the oldest and most experienced judges in the colony, has Accepted that position. The draw will lake place on June 21, at 4 p.m.
