ONSLOW ESTIMATES.
— $ A LOAN FORESHADOWED. The Onslow Borough Council met last evening, when there were present: The Mayor (Mr. J. G. Harkness), Councillors Lynneberg, F. Kiernan, W. N. Bowden, G. W. Darvall, Aplin, E. S. Stafford, A. Ferguson, and W. R. Plimmcr. Estimate, tor public works in the coming year were agreed '"to as follow :— Kliandallah .£2lB, Kaiwarra .£228, Ngaio £246. Consideration of the remaining .estimates was deferred till a later meeting. All proposed works of a permanent nature wore cut out, as it is proposed to ask the ratepayers to authorise a loan for such. Tho amounts quoted are practically for maintenance expenses only. Tho rate for the year will probably be struck at the next meeting. It is uot expected that 'tlu> rate will be roduced.
