William Beach, ex-sculling champion, speaking at a farewell concert to R Arnst, expressed confidence that the champion would return successful from the Zambesi. Ho announced that a Now Zealand flag was to be presented to' Arnst. Arnst said he hoped the flag would bear the Australian emblem in the corners. If it did not, ho would see that one was put there. The honours ho had gained were due as much to Australia as to New Zealand.
