Paulhan on tho last etage of his aerial flight from London to Manchester encountered an air pocket, and flew suddenly into the midst of a vertical down current. The aeroplane fell twenty feet faster than by gravity, owing to the downward pressure. The descont was so sudden that M. Paulhan lost contact with his soat, but saved liimself by firmly gripping the control lever. Paris, May 1. Enormous crowds welcomed M. Paolhan on hie arrival in Paris, and carried him shoulder high from the Gare du Nord (northern railway terminus). AN ENGLISH PLIEE. London, May 1. At Sheerness, Kent, Mr. Cecil Grace, upon a ehoit Wright biplane, tew 50 miles in 51 minutes. Hβ reached a height of 1500 feet. • A SYDNEY FLIGHT. Sydney, May '2. Houdini, the music-hall artist, aeroplaned a distance of 2j miles in 3 minntes 17 seconds.
