Paulhan on tho last etage of his aerial flight from London to Manchester encountered an air pocket, and flew suddenly into the midst of a vertical down current. The aeroplane fell twenty feet faster than by gravity, owing to the downward pressure. The descont was so sudden that M. Paulhan lost contact with his soat, but saved liimself by firmly gripping the control lever. Paris, May 1. Enormous crowds welcomed M.
