The bride, who was given ' away, by. her.-mother, wore a ;charming dress of white ninon,-over glace silk, with pearl .trimmings. ■ She wore a bridal . wreath arid veil, and carried a handsome shower bouquet. : . Her bridesmaids were Miss^Grace.M'Vay (sister of the bride) and Miss Marjorie Miller (her cousin), both of whom ..wore dainty frocks of pale blue charmeuse, trimmed. with gold embroidery, and black hats with feathers and golden berries. They carried pretty . bouquets of white cosmeas and maiden- ;. hair fern, Mr. F., D. M'Vay was best man,.and Mr. B. Braun groomsman. During the afternoon there' -was some delightful music. Miss Bristow sang,- and the :two Dunedin visitors,' Miss Macpherson and Mi.-s Stock, contributed' sobs 'on violin and •' piano.' St. Mary's Guild. There was a large attendance at the monthly meeting of-.St: Md'ry's Guild, held- at -the Diocesan rooms yesterday morning.. Mrs. Wallis presided. It was decided to get an assistant for the matron at. the. Cottage Home, as the work and responsibility has been found to be too much for one person. Matters in connection with the annual • meeting, which is to be held towards the end of the. month,: were discussed, and other business in connection ; with the homes was dealt with. .-.- , Bazaar at Johnsonville. Oil Wednesday and Thursday of last week a most successful .bazaar was held in the Parish Hall, Johnsonville, in' aid of the funds of the local Anglican Church.- The opening ceremony was performed on Wednesday afternoon by Dr. Hassell, in the presence of a large number of people. After, the opening, a lovely bouquet of .flowers was presented to Mrs. Hassell by, the vicar's, little daughter.Miss Molly, Petrie. The hall, adorned by the various stalls, laden with all manner of good things, looked very attractive, and testified to careful preparation and hard work on the part of those in charge. Oii Wednesday evening an entertainment was provided by "The Follies," . under' the management of Mr. Theo. Treziso, and on Thursday evening a humorous duologue was (riven by Mr. dampen and Miss Lottie Ogborne; both performances were very much enjoyed by the large audience, which crowded the hall each evening. . The following ladies and gentlemen were in charge of, or assisted at, thet various stalls:—Mcsdames Petrie,. Kirk, Bethnne, Blair, Cook, Eason, King, Lawrence. Lindsay, Lough, Manson, Mirrieless, Pattle, Pattern, Misses Allen, Angel!, Blair (2), Bould. E. Bould, S. Bould,-Bryant, Lv-.Brvant, Eager, Garrett! (2), Johnstone, Julius, Pattle, Tre-. rise (2), and Messrs. Grierson, Lough, and Pattle. Business was brisk on both days,' and a'sum of about ,£llO was realised.

Miss Dora Peiper, late matron of St. Helen's Hospital, Auckland, has been appointed matron of Auckland General Hospital. , Miss Peiper, who received her training at Invercargill Hospital, served in South Africa during the war, and was trained in maternity work at a London' hospital. „Mr : and Mrs. John Duncan will leave Weihngton on April 21 on a trip to -England. A meeting of Mr. Townsend's Ladies' Committee was to have been held yesterday afternoon in Fabian's Tea Rooms at Seatoun, but the heavy rain which came on early in the afternoon i completely spoiled tha meeting. However, arrangements were made for a canvass of the district in the interests of Mr. Townsend's candidature. ■

■ Miss Maybelle Russell, of Auckland, and Miss Olive Greej, of Thames, are spending a short holiday in Wellington, and are staying at the Grand Central Hotel.
