": :.' ; : MUTTON BROTH. •' One quart of water, two pounds neck of mutton, one' carrot, one tablespoonful of pearl barley, one" teaspoonful of chopped parsley/ one turnip, half , an onion, one .leek, pepper and salt to. taste. Cut the mutton into neat pieces, not too •„. ' small, and soak for half an hour in the cold'water. Then, put it. on the fire and . bring to the boil slowly. Skim it well. • gimmer for an hour and a half. Cut the vegetables into dice and add them. Sim- , mer;for another hour and a half. Add the chopped parsley and serve, ■: ■ \ i '■} \ ' '■.'".".'
