Moore (Premier.of Wostern Australia) to address 4000 persons at Leicester upou tho subject of emigration. Mr, Mooro, speaking at.a gathering of intending emigrants, stated that ho had received the following message from Western Australia:—"Send us as many girls bb possible. Reid, High Commissioner for the Commonwealth, speaking tefore the Carpenters'/ Company, said he wished that every working youth leaving school would not only hare the opportunity, but would be strongly encouragod, to, feel that his real education in life was just beginning. While with one voice they cried: "Arml Arm!" with another ho cried: "Educate! Educate!" • , . It was his aim to tnrn .the streams of emigration to greater extent to areas within, the Empire. Australia wanted to take not- merely men, but children. Tens of thousands of English girls and boys were brought up at great cost by tho poor law institutions, and at the age of 16 wore thrown on their own resources. He would make strong representations to. his Government" so that these young people could be taken from their bleak homes in the Motherland to the free spaces of Australia, where tbey would bo welcome. , •
