Ho was found lying on tho road at 1 a.m., and was taken' to a shed. Tbe'i'marii' who was engaged in driving a, horso and cart to Day's Bay from tho Hutt, remembers nothing- as to how lie came to be in such a position, but ■it is surmised that the horse took fright,'arid threw its occupant out of the cart.
