FATAL RIDING ACCIDENT.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) . . Noison, March 29, " A young man. named William Porter died at Pokororo early .this morning from tho effects of'a riding accident. Ho was found lying on tho road at 1 a.m., and was taken' to a shed. On tho shed being, visited at 8 o'clock it was found that Porter, was dead. : MISHAP ON DAY'S BAY ROAD,, > .Whilst .Dr. Collins was motoring ■on the Day's Bay road yesterday morning ho disoovered an elderly man named Tymons lying in a 6tate of collapse on the side of the road. Tbe'i'marii' who was engaged in driving a, horso and cart to Day's Bay from tho Hutt, remembers nothing- as to how lie came to be in such a position, but ■it is surmised that the horse took fright,'arid threw its occupant out of the cart. The injured man was conveyed to his home,, •where it was found that' lie had 'sustained slight concussion of tho brain. 1 The cart was a complete wreck,, and the horse was slightly injured. ; THE CITY TRAMWAY ACCIDENT. ' The hospital authorities reported last night that William Bignall, who met with a very severe'accident'aa the result of an express, which he was drivr ing, colliding with a tram-car on Monday night, is still in a semi-conscious condition, . . - , Mr. Edward Rosenberg, who was seriously injured through the capsize of -a trailer attached to a motor cycle near Trentham on Good.Friday, is-progress' ing favourably, at the Thorndon .Private.
