The trial of Dr. Carlo Fiaschi andNurse : Young on l the charge of manslaughter of the girl Nightingale at Lithgow on January 10, has opened. A doctor, who had' previously stated that there was no indication of an operation for hemorrhoids, and that an important organ was missing, gave evidence that the supposed missing organ was to-day' found, in the presence■ of. a number of medical experts, attached to another organ. There were also indications, .. of an. V operation .for hemorrhoids. Under the circumstances he therefore --reversed ■'■. his previous evidence, . which' arose. through' the abnormal condition of,the.organs.-..; ,
■In evidence/at the Coroner's Court, Dr. Fiaschi stated that he performed an operation,for hemorrhoids, and that the patient died from shock and Blight's , disease. ; Tho medical ■ evidence .was to the effect.that there was'no indication of an operation for hemorrhoids, while an important organ was missing. .
