THE PONEKE CLUB. ■About fifty members attended tie annual meeting of the Poneke F.C., which took place last night, Dt. SELWYN CKTB. ' The annual meeting of the Selwvn Football Club-was held at the Y.H.C.A. Booms last evening, Mr. N. Austin presiding over a large attendance. Tha annual report and balance-sheet, which were read and adopted, congratulated members on the progress of the club last season. Although some of the. teams in the past seasons had done better; it was noticeable that the junior team did very well, coming third in their grade. The thirdclass team were not so successful, as in past years, mainly, owing to their lack of training. .It, was to.be hoped that they would give a better account of themselves this season.. Waugh, and E iacdonald: The club desired to heartily thank Messrs. J. Murray, L. Flowers,' N. Austin, jun,, Leeks, and J. Anderson for donations and trophies, and Mr. N. Austin, sen-, for his kindness in lending two rooms for committee meetings. Trophies were awarded as follow:—Third-class • Most improved player, W. Stott. ■ As the club went to considerable expense in procuring a suitable for members to train in, the committee hopes members ' will turn up better in' the coming .season, ,was expressed at the 'Alness of Mr. I'. Cooper, 'who has been a prominent member of the club since its moeption. ihe club s members intend raising sufficient funds to enable hiin .to go away in order to reoonp bis health. HUTT' club; _Ageneral meeting of the Hutt Football Uub was held on Thursday evening. Mr. U Peters presided over a large attendance. ; It was unanimously decided- to enter a senior .team this-year. ■ Gymnasima Committee repotted tMt they had a credit balance of w£9l left over from the bazaar, and-they further reported that negotiations'were in, progress for .a. piece- of land . for the' ereonon of a gymnasium; and that final negotiations would be known nert Saturday as to whether they could get the land I or not. . , The following officers were elected for theensmng year:—Patron, Mr. T.
