(From Our Special Correspondent.! $ — ■ At yesterday's, meeting of .the Hutt Licensing' Committee, over which Mr. Hnselden, S.M., presided, the police entered a favourable report, and all licenses were renewed. A committee meeting of the Hutt Valley Horticultural Society was held, at the Town Hall, Lower Hutt, last, -evening. Arrangements were discussed- for the chrysanthemum show, which will proliably take place in April. It was mentioned that financially the'summer show had not been successful. The monthly sitting of the Lower Hutt Magistrate's Court was held yesterday, Mr. liaseideu, S.M. presiding. A cdW of assault was brought by Thomas J, Austin against James M'Kain and 'Boris M'lntyre. The case,.was .dismissed.* In a judgment summons case Hendry.and, Button v. Dan Flinn, a debt of =£12.155. 8d„ no order was made. The borough ranger brought cases against D. Millanta, W. T. Strand, and, Albert Peck for allowing their cattle to stray. In each case the Bench fined defendants 1 55., with costs 7s. The following cases, in which judgment was given, were brought by the Lower Hutt* Borough Council for overdue rates William Somerville, «£1 12s. 4d., costs 55.; Mary Rowell, J67 9s. 3d., costs Bs.; Edmund J. Pointon,' .£7 18s. Bd., costs Bs. ; J J. K; Powell, ,£7 12s. 2d., costs Ss.; lluggie Johnson, =811 14s. Ad., costs 15s. At a largely-attended meeting of St. Augustine's Young Men's Bible Class, held at Petone last evening, it was unanimously decided to form an Association football club, aud enter a team in the Senior League Second Division this season. The'following officers were elected: Patron, Mr. T. M. Wilford, _M.P.; presi-, dent, Rev. J. D; Russell"; vice-presidents, Messrs. Foster, Lee; .Wright, Mason, Mothes,; Brooks, Castle; club captain, Mr. N. Martin; Management Committee, Messrs. Bowman, Andrews, Marsden, Southgate, Lusty, and captain and vicecaptain, ex' officio. The Selection Committee and vice-captain are to be elected at . a later, date.
