It is not'my,;, desire' to clamour for ; this ■ sport's retention, but it was,' and is at present,!' up to % the, month of March,-' perfectly legal' in • 'current.'legislation. No provision has been made in the Act 'for the : reinstating of' those who have: been ; associated ■ with: the- abdve; and .on! behalf; of • some -hundred / of • the same. I make an.;appeal , to : the 'New: Zear land Hacing Club, and particularlyto. Sir Geo'. Clifford to give fflese men andboys a chance to..come into the sport "horse-racing that our Government will aftervMarcn continue to legalise and countenance." . What is ,to 'become of tome of the best bred 6tock' that has raced , among the; .'ponies, equivalent :to the average ■ breeding of horses, now competing in. the 'older, sport? ; Could 'not they , be examined and breeding submitted, 'with', a view to legitimising, them for nomination with ,the_ New; Zealand' racing -clubs?
