At the beginning of this week Mr. J. W.' Sl'Ewan (chairman.of the-Hutt Val-: ley Tramway. Board) interviewed Mr. Wilford, M.P.,: with reference to the desired loan of .£85,000.; Mr.' MT2wan again, emphasised the importance of the matter, and asked .Mr.: Wilford, to at , once pla'ce hiniself .in; communication with, the Prime Minister, and; obtain definite assurance: that the amount will be available under 'the ; State Guaranteed-Advances,'Act. Mr. Wilford'.promised to do his best to facilitate matters, but. expressed the opinion that Sir'. Joseph'-. Ward would require, more : information regarding the. scheme before committing himself. "He can have all' the information he .requires," replied Mr. M'Ewan. "It. is a sound ■ business proposition, and we court the fullest investigation." : ' .. Mr., and. Mrs.. T.. W. Bonthorne . and family, of. Potone, will leave by the Sydney boat en route, for England. The .following players will represent the. Hutt in a three-rink match'; against.
