A Wellington Wedding.
Miss Elizabeth Parton, eldest daughter of Mr/W. Parton, of this citj, was mar- ' ried yesterday afternoon to Mr Samuel 'Pearson, of Cuba Street, Tho .vedding took place in Wesley Church, TaranaKi Street, which had been beautifully decoxated with flowers and foliage b> friends of the bride, and tho Eev. S. J. Serpell officiated, Tho bride, who was, gnen away by her fatlier, wore a semi-empire goirn of cream silk poplin, i tlio , skirt made with'panel of tucked bilk, and the toodice with a handsomo silk net yoke finished with cream satin ribbon and true lovers' knots. She also woro p., tulle veil handsomely embroidered, and earned & shower bouquet aJid a handkerchief of Mechlin lace, a gift from Scotland Sko was attended by three bridesmaids, Miss Jean Parton, her only sister, who was uhjef bridesmaid, woro .v Semi-empire gown of cream ladiautc, trimmed with bandsof white satin, andw ith a cream lape joke. Her cream hat was trimmed with blno marguerites. The two Misses Duncan, tho other bridesmaids, wore semi-em-pire flocks of white embroidered muslin. Xneyosore wreaths of flowers and carried wands. Mr. Coppin was best man. After tho ceremony the wedding party adjourned to tho homo of the bride's par' »nts in Pine Street, where about seventy guests sat down to a wedding breakfast, . which was served in a room beautifully decorated with palms, forus, and flowers, and festooned with draperies of white muslin. Mrs. Parton, the bride's mother, ■wore a frock of black meneilleux silk, trimmed with black laoo and cream silk 1 yoke, with touchcs"of pink.l She wore a pretty .bouquet to match. : -Mrs... Cunningham, -a guest from Dnnedih, wore a - gown of black striped silk voile and a black silk toque, trimmed with tnllfl and Mi osproy; Mrs." A. J. Parton (Masterton) l nor© cream taffetas, with joke of tucked lii rot and silk lace, and a pretty blue hat; Miss Hastio (Dunedm), pearl grev princess robe, and gTey hat trimmed with loses. The bridegroom's present to tho bride was a gold cable bangle, and to tho bridesmaids gold brooches of'unique design. In the evening Mr. and Mrs. Parton entertained a number of friends from far and near. Occasion was taken after the wedding to announce the engagement' of Mr. Alec Parton/ junior partner in' Messrs. W. Parton and Sons, to Miss. May Armstrong,' oldest .daughter of Mr. David Armstrong, of the Citizens' life Assurance Company, late of Saltcoats, ' Scotland. Mr. Parton is well known'in hockey and athletic circles." f f Masterton Weddings. At Knoi Church, .Masterton,, on December 25, Miss flora M'Gregor was married to Mr. \Y. E. Chamberlain. The church had been tastefully decorated, and the service, which'was fully choral, was performed by the Eev. A. T. Thompson. The bride wore a dress of silk embroidered muslin with veil and orange blossom, and carried a beautiful shower'bouquet. She was attended by 'her sister. Miss J. M'Gregor, and by Miss F. ~ Chamberlain, sister of the bridegroom, I who wore robes of embroidered muslin. Messrs. H. H. Sutton and W. A. Anderjon acted as 'best man anJ_j;roomsnmn respectively. After the ceremony a reoeption was held l at "Strathendick," the .residence of the bride's "-parents. During I the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Chamberlain left by motor, the biide's tiavclhng dress being a na\y blue 'costume, with heliotrope floral toqne. At Knox Church, Masterton on Monday, Miss Bobina King, fourth'daughter ef the,late* Mr. Thomas King, of Reefton, was mained to Mr. William Bedley Bird, of Masterton, second son of Mr. Albert Bird, of Harrow, England The bride, who was given away; by her brother, Mr. James King, woro a princess dress of white satin charmouso, trimmed with chiffon and silk insertion Sho carried a bouquet of white sweet pens, and wore a bridal veil and orango bios soms Miss Gladyi Smith, who was bridesmaid, 'wore lif cream silk ,-• voile princess dress, trimmed with net and silk insertion, and a pink hat,trimmed with black berries and black velvet libion. Mr. W. M'Eae, of Masterton, was best man/ The ceremony was performed by Eev. A, T. Thom»»Q.
