A.verdict of suicide was returned. : A BODY FOUND. Napier, December 15. The dead body of.a man named John Weir, a labourer,' lately employed, at scrub-cutting at Tutira, was found in the river at Petanc to-day. .; Somo of - his'clothing, and his swag wore seen on:the bank by. passers-by, and this led to-'a-search being mado by a policeman, with the above result. Deceased was last' seen alive on Tuesday, when'ho was' observed walking towards Napier.. .' A SERIOUS' ACCIDENT.. ( A telegram : was received by tho police yesterday afternoon intimating that D. Crease,' traveller for - Messrs. Ballinger Bros., was thrown from, a trap, at Mangatainoka. He was removed, to the. Pahiatua Hospital, where it was found: that .tho• base of. his" skull was fractured. His condition is considered sorious.
