THE BOYS' BISLEY.

YOUTHFUL MARKSMEN AT THENTHAM/ FINE -WEATHER AND GOOD SHOOTING. Fine weather, good shooting,: and satisfactory organisation were tho distinctive features of the cadet, rifle meeting at Tronthani terday. ■. Tho meeting was organised by the Garrison Rifle Association, and it *was tho first of its kind to be held in "Wellington. Cadet' "Bislcys" have been, hold with great success at Palmerston!.and Wanganui,' arid the inaugural meeting at Trentham, with an attendance of 178 competitors, must bo regarded also as a success, and a happy augury for the future. : '•..■■■■• •■.■:. -'.. The competitions were arranged in two divisions—public school cadets; who fired'at thirdclass targets, with four points for/the, bull'seye, three "for the inner, and two for tho outer; and defence cadets, who' fired at the orthodox Bisley targets. As the defence cadets were' represented only, by the. Wellington; College Cadets and tho Boys' Instituto Cadets, it was decided to divide these into two classes— the senior shots from Wellington-College;in A Class arid the. others "in B Class, .Among-tho defence cadets, the best work was accomplished by Lieut. Fitohett (Wellington College), whose range scores-31-5454454 at 200 yards and 325554355 at 500 yards-v;ere very creditable indeed.He won ; the first match, came third in the second, arid, was first in the list for the "rand aggregate.
