MINING AT-GKEAT BARRIER.
IBy TcltcraDU.-Bocclal Oorreaoondetlt.i ',■■;,. Auckland,' September 22. A party numbering about 30, consisting of directors, shareholders, and others interested in the Ngntiawa. Consolidated mino at Blind.Bay, Great Barrier, paid, a' visit to the property. Mr. K. Adams, the superintendent, conducted the party over the property, and it was learnt that the battery and aerial tram were to be ordered without delay for ,tho purpose of crushing a large parcel of ore from - the Ngatiawa' reef. The outcrop of this reef was inspected, also the adit Icvclr beneath, and tho stone in both places looks well. It is proposed to. work tho reef by "open cut," thus lessening the cost of winning the ore. 'The Old Sunbeam property and mill, which are' now: part of this company's property,- next received attention. It is intended to resume operations in this mine forthwith, and, should the results warrant, it,- the mill, with its cyanide nlant, will be removed and' added to the Ngatiawa battery and connection made between it and tho mino by aerial tram. Altogether tho viritors were pleased with what they saw, and as tno company proposes to carry on operations-in both mines the future of .this part of the goldficlds will be watched with interest.
