Working expenses amounted to £2350, or £110 more ikr.n last year. Of. this amount, £53- is due to the maintenance of the city public lighting, which last year was directly charged to the District Fund. The total revenue for tho four months from April 1 to July 31 amounted to £18,707, as compared with £18,286 for the same four months .last year., . Working expenses for the whole period of this year amounted to £9235, as compared witTi £8530 last, year. _ After allowing for estimated, interest, ' sinking ' fund, and depreciation charges, the net credit balance at July 31, 1909, amounted to £3635, or £1110 loss than last year. 1
