Gnlland, who appeared hefore his constituents of Dumfries Burghs for re-clectiom on being appointed Junior Lord of the Treasury, was returned by 292 votes, the figures being: ' • ' Onlland (Liberal) ' "... ... 1877 Duncan (Unionist) ... ... 1585 / Liberal majority 292 " [The total number of'votes polled is about tho same as in 1906, but Mr. Gullnno has Dolled 158 lesg than ho did then, and tho Unionist candidate has polled 183 more. The Liborol majority of 633 in 1900 has been reduced by 341.]
