'.', MEETING OF TRUSTEES., The fortnightly meeting of the Board of Trustees of the -Wellington Hospital was heldNjesterday,, there being present: Hon. C M. Luke (chairman), and Messrs. A. , Smith, J. Danke, G. London, R. Cr.Kirk, and G. Nash. , ■ . , Tho statement of finances for the period ■\lune.2B-July 12 showed that the excess, of receipts over expenditure amounted to £550 - 2s. fd., tho total figures being: receipts, £1396,115. 2d.j expenditure, £840 Bs. 7d. The receipts from aonts,, out-patients, and in-patients were respectively £310 lls. 6d., £12 12s. 6d... and £120 Us. 6d for the period, as against £14 165 , . 7d., £12 14s. 6d., and'£4s 2s. 6d.' respectively for tho previous > fortnight. • ', . , , ~,, The House Committee recommended: ' That the nurses who passed tie final hospital examination be classed as,®eniornurse3 and reoeivo the privileges of 'senior nurses; that a cot or bed may bo endowed for one year, the former costing £25 and the latter £50 and that the donor be allowed to nominate the patient; that the question of the rules,and regulations in regard to employment of maids in tho hospital be gone into more fully by the matron and tho medical superintendent, and brought down again at a subsequent meeting of the trustees; that ■ the question of part payment of patients from the Ohiro Homo bo postponed till a subsequent meeting; that the bonder ot a.. A. , Smith-(being-tne-lowcat) be accepted for the extended firo alarm; that the tender of-Luke and-Co. (bemg tho lowest) be ac-i cepted for lagging the steam pipes; that, on the recommendation of the Steward, arrange- - ments be confirmed with Mr. Alex. JoJineton, of Berhampore, to take the waste refuso for the sum of £7 per annum, an ad'vance of £1 on what is.now,being received; that the recommendation of the house steward be given effect to regarding tho hours of-duty and work to bo performed by the fireman- in connection witn tho hot water sorvico at the Nurses' Home, and that tho fireman be paid £2 10s. per week. < i There was no' correspondence, ,nor any other formal business. Certain matters relating 'to,. the .institution of unemployed relief works in connection, with the excavation of the endowment site'in Salamanca Road, and also on.'the'site of the new fever hospital aro reported in another column.
