t : Btr,—Wifl yon kindly allow.Vme'i. space' '■■, in yotu- paper to once more call upon' my \ follow-oolomsts in' Wellington to-help on the now movement,"'''scouting for boys," which, was .inaugurated .some fourteen motithss ago by : Lieut.-General BadenPowell,' and whichi now counts its, workers by hundreds%of thousands'in almost every civilised.country of'the globe.- By lie earnest ,'.wkh of the General I undertook' the.organisation of the scheme in New ■ Zealand about .twelve months, ago',. and. have, {throygh the kindness of editors-in the. provincial tricts,. brought the.scheme.before boti. young and old- in the Dominion. There, are now over 1200.b0y scouta, most, of .whom, are registered with me in the Dominion Headquarters- Register-Bee "Scout" for February 13—and all those .scoutmasters' appointed'by; me are how enrolled in the.Empire Headquarters Roll by the General at the Headquarters Office, London.'' ■ .-; --'. Although there;are many boys in: Wellington anxious to become sooute and'form pair rols, I am unable' to obtain tho! services of suitable young Yinen as:. scoutmasters. The work is .most fascinating, . and it requires very!, little- time-and practioallyhb expense on the part'of-the-young men. I know that there are;in ydur.city many v men well qualified to undertake this work; but;either, bocause the scheme has rot bepn placed clearly before them or because! they have, not heard of it,* there bae been very little.done there; Patrols: were regtetered-by' me last 'October in Wellington, and etill only ten , patrols are on my books. 'During'the 1 same over 400 boys were registered in while, Thames, Nanier, .Palmeretoiir Masterton, ■ Carferton'; Wanganui, >and . Tiraranga have semt-'in..250." 'If there are any patrcils in Wellington not yet registered, I shall.be pleased to receive their names from • leaders or scoutmasters that they, may be brought into lino with the other-, scouts; in the Motherland as well as in-the Dominion. I shall also'be pleased to forward-full instructions for the, formation'.of v 'patrols to anyone wbJo ; desires such information.. Trusting that you .will .pardon me for-taking up sjvmuch of your valuable.: space, and, that 'this appeal may be more'.successful.than.my last,'— l am, etc.; • -: : '". ■■■''~:■-,' V V.,-■ ■■'- : '•• • ■■■■■ •■*.
