A Marton-Wedding. At St. Stephen's, Marion, on Wednesday, June 23, 1909, tho Ven. Archdeacon Toogood officiating, , Mr. .Matthew Thomas Lewis, second son of Mr. "W. Lewis, of Greatford, was mamed to Miss Ivy Con- .. stance Evelyn Kitnej, joungest daughter of Mr W. C. Kitnej, of Marton. Tho bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of cream loilo with gold trimmings. with veil and orange blossoms, and earned _ a lovely shower bouquet Slib w as* attended b), three bridesmaids, Miss Edith Kitney, Bister of tho hnde who wore a dress of grey voilo and a large picture hat; also Miss Clara Knapp, of Taihape, in white delaino .with a largo picture hat trimmed with white and pink lilac, and Mjss Helen Jones, meco of the bridegroom, who was attirod in white silk. Tho bridesmaids earned white muffs, trimmed with blue violets Tho bridegroom was attended by his brother, Jlr George Lowifl, and by Mr. James Bryan as groomsman. After the ceremony the guests, were entertained at a wedding brealiast. The Pioneer Club. The members of tho provisional committee of the i J ioneer Club,; who attended a meeting held in the new rooms yesterday afternoon, were delighted with tho work of tho com'mitteo appointed to arrange for the decoration and furnishing Tho largo club-room, which looks on to Manners, Street, through four large windows, is charmingly pretty. It has been papered m white, witli a frieze of a rose , design, all tho woodwork is white, tho white (curtains are worked m pale pink and pale blue, and handsome floor coverings to correspond have been chosen. Tho whole effect is charmiDgly bright and attractive Tie, room behind, which has been set aside 88 a reading and writing room, also promises to be very attractive It is papered in white, with a very slight conventional design, and is separated from the larger one by folding doors A part of it has been built off to form a small dressing-room. r
