At a meeting of the Society for vention of Cruelty-to Animals," a motion was passed to ■ the effect that a petition bo presented to Parliament urging the aboli-l tion of enclosed coursing, as tho paßtime is' conducive to acts of cruelty, and is having .evil effects,, and that other centres throughout New Zealand bo asked to ow)porate''in tho movement. .After consideration of the report of the society's inspector, it was decided to lay an information against certain persons who were in charge of the recent coursing meeting if, in the opinion of the society s solicitor, tho prosecutions can be sustained.' A vote of thanks was passed to the press for the action taken'by it in rogard to the. recent coursing meeting. '
