REFEREES ASSOCIATION. < A mooting of the Wellington Hockoy Roforces' Association was held last night, Mr. A. J. HoIHb prosidiug over a largo attendance. A vote of thanks was accorded Air. S. Hickson, an old Wellington representative player, for las services in coming forward to referee this season. Considerable discussion took ■ place oyer the poslponoment of last Saturday's matches, and, m tho interests of hockoy, tho association thought that tho Postponement Committee could have definitely inquired as to tho stato of tho grounds at Day's Bay. On\bohalf of tho committee, Mr! L.' E. Christie explained that the roaßon was that tho men could not havo played unless the ladies were allowed to play, and tho grounds could not stand this double-banking. In reference to the proposed rofereos' conference Messrs W J Organ, K C. Morpeth, and R L JoncSj wero appointed the, Wellington delegates, if tho 'conference , ' be' held at Wellington.
