OFFERS OF HELP. Sinco tho publication in The Dominion of articles dealing with the poverty, now oxisting in Wellington, tho editor has received many kindly -letters from pe'oplo who: are eager to give what help they can, either in the form or money or clothing. Ono correspondent writes to say. that she'knows several people' who burn their old clothing because they'know of no one to whom they tan send it; though sho feels suro that'many people who are in distress would bo glad to havo it. Any parcels of clothing sent to The Dominion office will be received gratefully, and forwarded to those families whom inquiry has shown; to be most in need of such assistance, and any money sent will bo distributed in tho same way. . .
It may be well to mention that clothing which is in reasonably good repair, and clean, is what is urgently required, sinco the things aro wanted for wear at onco, and some of .the most needy mothers are almost without facilities for repairing or washing clothes. Wo havo to acknowledge tho receipt of £2 2s. i from a Karori resident, who ivishes-to assist in relieving tho' distress arising o.ut of the, current .condition of unemployment./'",
