Mr. Levy proposes leaving for a trip to the Old Country, sailing from Wellington next week by the Arawa. A large, number "of Levin residents travelled to'Palmerston on Monday for the purpose of hearing Madame Meloa. Soveral names are already-being mentioned as probable candidates for the" Borough' Council vacancy caused- by the retirement of Councillor Levy, among them being Messrs. T. Williams and W. .33. Faulkner. The bicycle which was removed from tho the Presbyterian Church last Sunday ovening has been returned-to tho owner, but there is no trace of, the. lamp, takgn it the same time. , 1 Dr. Barnardo's boys arrived in Levin from Wellington yesterday by tho midday train! and were met at the station, by several ladies and gentlemen who are to act as. their hosts while here. A large crowd was expected to turn out last night,' and to-day tho party is to be convoyed to the Wcreroa Boys' Training Farm, where they will be the guests of Major Burlinson.
