RELEASES IMPRISONED OFFICERS. (Hoc. April 16/ 10.10 p.m.) ' Constantinople, April 16. Nazim Pasha has boon appointed to tho command of the First Army Corps and Assistant Minister for War.- His first aotion was to release the officers of the Conimitteo of Union arid Progress who had boon imprisoned on Tuesday. He has issued orders that tho released officers must not bo molested. TThis is a contradiction of two of yesterday's that Nazim Pasha had been murdered in mistake for Ali Riza Pa&ha (the doubtful accuracy of which roport was pointed out in yesterday's issue), and (2) that Javer Pasha had been appointed to command the I'iisl Army Corps. It was the latter body that figured in the tecent coup. Nazim formerly commanded the Second' Army Corps.] CONTINUITY OF POLICY, CHAMBER SUPPORTS NEW CABINET. SHER'IAT AND CONSTITUTION. (Rec. April 16, 10.10 p.m.) Constantinople, April 16. The now Government under Tewfik Pasha announces that it will follow tho foreign and domestic policy of its predecessors. Tho Chamber of Deputies unanimously resolved to approve 1 recent events, and expressed its willingness to work in conformity with tho Sher'iat (sacred law) and the Constitution. THE YOUNG TURKS. SALONIKA THEIR STRONGHOLD. (Rec. April 16, 10.10 p.m.) Constantinople, April 16. Tho Young Turk Committee at Salonika refuses to aeknowlodso tho neiv Government, and is preparing to offer a desperate resistance. A great public meeting at Salonika has approved the Committee's decision. LEADERS OF THE JULY MOVEMENT. (Rec. April 16, 10.58 p.m.) Vienna, April 16. Hakki Bey and Etincr Bey—who wereleaders in tho revolution which led to the re-establishment of the Constitution in July last, and the setting up of tho/regimo under the Committee of Union and Progresshave left Vienna to assume control at' Salonika, the headquarters of tho Youne Turke. During tho crisis, Anf Bov. commander of the cniiser Assar-i-Tewfik (4613 tons), ordered that' the vessel's guns be trained on " Yildiz• Palace'(the Sultan's residence) with a view of supporting tho Committee of Union and Progress.
