REFEREES' ASSOCIATION. Tho weekly meeting of the. "Wellington R* ferees' Association was held last nigkt, Mr. G. Lusk presiding over a fair attendance. The 'New Zealand Association forwarded a notification of tho conferenco and annual meeting at Now Plymouth on April 9 and 10. Tho cxeoutive expressed tho hopo that all associations would endeavour to bo directly represented at tho conference, as that meeting afforded one of tho best means for bringing about uniformity of ideas in tho interpretations of the laws. An application was received from an explayer to join, tho association. It was decided to admit him to membership) but the secretary was instructed to adviso him that no guarantee could be given that ho could referee at any particular match or district. . (lie htul suggested that ho should act in matches at his own township.) Four other new members were elected. .. \ The chairman withdrew his notice of motion (previously published), the cilect of which would bo to allow other than senior referees to act on the Classification Committee. ■ Tho election of the Classification Committee was hold over until next meeting. Tho secretary was instructed to ask tho Rugby Union to pay tho expenses of a delegate as usual. Mr, F. A. Laws moved: "That it bo a suggestion to tho delcgato to the annual meeting lo ask that the next meeting bo held in Wellington." After discussion tho motion was with* drawn. Mr. C. Bell moved: "That it bo an instruction to tho Classification Committee (hat no senior referee be appointed to act as suchduring llio month ot Juno while acting as a member o£ tho Classification Committee, but must attend to his duties as a member of the committee." This was carried.
