Two boys, Olsen and Rocnelusen, aged 16 and 17, jumped to the rescuo, and though Jacobsen was carried under the wharf, the boys got hjm ashoro in an unconscious conditpion. They then performed artifioial respiration successfully after which Jacobsen was removed to tho hospital. AUCKLAND HARBOUR BOARD. Auckland, March 29. ' The ■ election .of three members to the Auckland Harbour Board.as representatives of tho payors of dues and owners and partowners of vessels' took ; place to-day. Six candidates were nominated for the vacancies, viz., Messrs. J. H. Gunson, J. J. Craig, H. D. Heather. J. H. Bradnoy, C. C. Daoro, and W. D Holgate. With the exception of Mr. Holgate, all tho. gentlemen named wero candidates at tho last election, which was declared void owingt to certain irregularities. Messrs. Gunson, Bradney, and Heather were jthe successful candidates to-day. INDUSTRIAL DISPUTES. Auckland, March 29. Ths Conciliation Commissioners met this morning to deal with the" cose of private ■hotels At a previous sitting a cbnference,had been suggested, but this not having eventuated, Giles proceeded to deal with tho persons cited'on the authority of the Arbitration Court's finding in the Otago and Canterbury disputes; He struck out a very large number of those cited', leaving only four names,,on Uio list, those representing private- hotels and restaurants combined. As thero was no evidence forthcoming, Mr. Giles then'sent the caab"dirccfto tho Arbitration Court. CHRISTCHURCH MAYORALTY. Ghristohuroh, March 29. Mr. .Charles Allison, the present Mayor of Christchurch, informed a deputation that ho will be a candidate at the approaching clccHons for the mayoralty. .
