PROFICIENCY CERTIFICATES. Tlie following pupils of primniy schools, among others, qualified at the 'le Aro Baths veslcrdav for the proficiency certificates of the 'Now Zealand Amateur Swimming Association: -First-class certificates ore given to swimmers of 410 yards, and second-class certificates to swimmers of 220 yards, but if longer dis- v lances are swum, the distance is recorded on the certificate.
