A letter was received to-day by the Southland Rugby Union from the New Zealand Rugby Union, intimating that it had been decided to expel thoso players in Southland who t last season, took part m tho Northern Tjnion game. A special meeting of the_ S.R.F.TJ. Committeo was held in, the evening to consider tho question, and it was decided to write to the New Zealand Union vigorously protesting against the expulsion of the players. It was also decided to ask the ruling body why the matter had not been dealt with sooner, the names of the men concerned having been forwarded to headquarters live montns ago. OLD BOYS' CLUB. ' There was a fine attendance at the annual meeting of tho Old Boys' Football Club last night. Air. S. Brown occupied tho chair. Tho report and balance-sheet (ft summary of which has already appeared in Tun Dominion) wero adopted. , Over twenty , new players were admitted to membership of;iho club.
