(by telegrafu special correspondent.) Christchurch, March 12. Some months ago, Major Hobday, of this ®itywrote to the t Minister for Defence, suggesting the formation of an Imperial Legion. Major Hobday's suggestion was, briefly, that a portion of the defence forces of' the Dominion be organised for servico with the Imperial Army, when required. Tho Minister'replied, on February 12, stating that the suggestion did not coincide with the policy of the Government with regard to defence. It is now understood that a member of tho Council of Defence is .in communication with a member of the Imperial Staff on the subject of n force on somewhat similar lines to the one-suggested by Major Hobday. . , •
