ADDINGTON INQUIRY.
MEN WILL NOT BE PRESENT. (HI TElKlMiril — ItkKfiS ASSOCIATION.) Chrlstchurch, March 9. The Addington workers mot to-day to consider tho Minister's reply of yesterday. After a brief discussion, it was resolved to confirm the resolution passed yesterday, adhering to tho request for an outside representative at tho inquiry, and submitting tho name of Mr. T. 13. Taylor, M.P. The etcct of tile resolution is that tho men will not bo represented at the'inquiry to-mornw. 1 Professor Scott, chairman of the Addington- Workshops Inquiry, who was seen by a representative' of tlio "News" to-day stated that ho has 110 further information on tho subject of the inquiry. On tho arrival of Mi'. E. Roberts from Dunedin, by the first express this evening, tho members of the commission met ana arranged details. ' Mr. J. J. Niven, of Napier, the other member of tho commission, arrived in this city this morning. Interviewed to-night, the Hon. J. A. Millar said lie had iiot altered his decision relative''to tho representation of the Addington employees at the forthcoming inquiry. Tho men had been offered a selection from tho whole of the railway service in New Zealand, and he was determined that no outsider should take a part in tho proceedings of tho commission. If the men adhered to their resolution not to appoint a representative, the inquiry would go on without them.
