'Tho Port Nicholson Amateur Athletic Club has spared no effort iu its ondeavours to make the carnivakto bo held on the Basin Reserve to-day a success. The expenses, have -been kept down as low as possible, und, Rjren fiiie weather, it is hoped Hint JiSO will be realised iu aid of the hospital funds. An attractive programme has been drawn up, and includes a 300 yds. olub handicap for a handsomo trophy donated by Messrs. J. Staples and Co., In addition to whioh there are the usual open events. A special feature of the programme is tho boxing display, arranged by permission of tho Boxing Association. The combatants will bo Hi Tjjornton and J. Morgan, of tho Wellington Physical Training School, and tho M'Randell Bros., two of Mr, Tracey's pupils. Two bicycles races also find a piapo on tho programme.
