Several; shots":wore fired, and the ranger, pricked his ears and scented excitement. •Hβ , ' had ! not gone far , before he came on , two portly-looking gei}tlemenj ' who - had , several hares in their possession. The ranger "'took their names and galloped , off : after others, and (so 'it is stated) bagged some half-a-dozen' leading citizens, who are to appear next Court day on various charges of _ snooting and'haytog hares in'their possession. .
