The attendance was not quite so good as it'was yes\erday. The sum of £176 was taken at the 'ates, making a total of £401 for the m~ee£ ing, an increase of about £17 on last year's figures. The great attraction was the Kilties i (Canadian Band), i ' i , The sports were a great success. Campion / put Tip two records for the cycling 'track, do- _ ing the mile in 2min. 2sec, and the two mile wheel* race in 4min. 12 2-ssec. from scratch. ' Trembath, the amateur middle distance champion, ran well, but had to give too long starts. He was third in the half-mile. ' ' Taverner ran a good raco in the mile proiessional, and was just beaten on tho tape. * The meotrng has, on the whole, been highly •successful. The Caledonian sports ivore concluded on Friday in unsatisfactory weather. The attendanco, however, was goodj and £200 was taken at tho gates, whicn, with £300' on the first day, will make the meeting a financial success, though the prize-money totalled £350. The big event, the Caledonian Handicap, was won by Baird, a local runner. M'Lachlan competed at the meeting, but was obviously out of form, and won nothing but the Consolation Handicap. ' ===== I
