LIBERAL AND LABOUR FEDERATION.
The annual meeting of tho Wellington District Branch of the Liberal and. Labour Fedei> ation; was held in Godber's Rooms yesterday evening, and was largely attended. The business \of the evening was the, selection- of officers for the. ensuing year, and there was keen competition for the various positions. For tlio office of president Mr. Robert Fletcher was chosen by "a Bubstnnfinl majority, and Sir: E. Arnold was ■ unanimously re-elected treasurer. Mr. M. O'Kanc was appointed lion.' secretary. The report presented to tho meeting dealt with the various activities. of the branch during the past year ,and showed' a satisfactory record of work done, while the accounts of the year closed with a balance of cash in hand-of XlO 10s. fld., and a surplus of assets over liabilities of £A Is. Id. A special vote of thanks to be recorded on the minutes was passed to the retiring hon. secretary, Mr. W. D. Gorham, who was compelled to declino re-election owing to pressure of other engagements.
