PAHIATUA,

At Mangatainoka yesterday .. afternoon teams representing the Pahiatua and Mangatainoka cricket clubs played a friendly game, the former team winning by the small majority of two runs. "The wicket was decidedly in favour of the bowling, the scoring on both sides being small, only ouo' player reaching double figures.'

Frank Rumsey, an old offender, was brought before iMessrs. Bennett and Freo- . s i. yesterday on two charges, one with being drunk while in charge of a horse and cart, and the sccond for assault on Henry Milburn. On the former charge he was convicted and discharged, and on the second fined £5, in default one months' imprisonment. Defendant was given 48 hours in which to pay the amount. A quiet wedding was solemnised in the Maori Mission Church yesterday afternoon, when Mr. To (Joe) Ropata, the well-known footballer, was married to Miss Marewa Hemi Kupa. Tho wedding service was conducted by tho Rov. Temiic'ra, supported by the Rev. Cecil J. Smith. The,bride was prettily attired in cream silk.
