Archbold, of the Standard Oil Trust, recommended judicial appointments, which had since been made, and had also sent.Mr. Elkin, Supremo Court Judge of Pennsylvania, when ho was Attorney-General, £3000, with a viow to inducing him to kill a measure then before the State Legislature. _ Judgo Elkin denies that ho received money improperly or for influencing any legislation.
