. CLAIM FOR £1500. BOW DEN AND HALL vi MINISTER FOR .. RAILWAYS. AWARD OF £500. ' A claim for £1500 compensation by ISowden and Hall against tho Minister for: Railways for one and n quarter acres of. land taken near. Kaiwarra for railway purposes was finally disposed of by tho Compensation Court, which was composed of Mr. Justice Chapman and Messrs. A. H. Miles (assessor for tho Crown), and Mf. T. Kennedy Slacdonakl (assessor for the claimants), yesterday. , • • His Honour said that all that remained to bo done was to nlako tho award. Tho Court had deckled that £500 was tho amount which should be paid by tho Crown to claimants in full satisfaction of tho claim. The assessor's fees had been fixed at fourteen guineas each, and. each side had' to pay its own assessor. Mr.. Morison (instructed'by Messrs., Skerrett aild Wylie) appeared on behalf-of tho claimants and Mr. Myers for the Cro.wn.
