Co., the ready-money drapers of 139 Cuha Street, opposite the Gear Company, intimate that they have landed this-week a big lot of Japanese silks direct from Yokohama, also new bloUse muslins, dressmaterials, black and navy dress skirts,' Japanese silk blouses, and many, other choice lines, which are being offered at tempting prices. ' The Simla Estate, IChandallah, which has been subdivided into 31 high-class residential sections, will be offered for sale by public auction on Wednesday evening, November 4, by Messrs.- Thomson and Brown, auctioneers, at their rooms, Customhouse Quay. Tho straightening of the Hutt line (and consequent cutting down of the time occupied by the train journey) and the extension of the suburban train area to include .Upper Hutt, are likely to add to the value of the land in question, while making it convenient to those who work in the city.
