A jrabuc land sale was held in Napier today invconiieotion with the subdivision of two valuable Hawke's Bay properties in the vic- . lnity or Waipukurau. The properties placed ■ on the market comprise a portion of the Hon. . . Ormond a Wallingford estate, consist- ■ mg of about 8000 acres, and practically the , whole of Mr. S. H. Gollan's Jlangatarata * estate, consisting of 23,000 acres. The i Maiigatarata estate failed to elicit competition,'and of seventeen lots, ranging' from 510 to 2540 acres, sixteen were passed in. The following was the only sale effected: Block Jo, 510 acres, Mr. Keith Gollan, Tamumu, ?>i- ; Snb seq>ently Messrs. de Ifilichet, M'Leod and Co., disposed of SOOO acres of tho estate at prices ranging from £7 to £10 per acre. The Wallingford estate was offered by Messrs. C. B. Hoadley and Son, and was in better demand, but the bids hardly realised the owner's idea of value Mowmg ", were the only two sales lon ■ 0 ' °'6ven lots offered: Block 3, 430 aores, J.
