SALE OF HAWKE'S BAY LAND.

A jrabuc land sale was held in Napier today invconiieotion with the subdivision of two valuable Hawke's Bay properties in the vic- . lnity or Waipukurau. The properties placed ■ on the market comprise a portion of the Hon. . . Ormond a Wallingford estate, consist- ■ mg of about 8000 acres, and practically the , whole of Mr. S. H. Gollan's Jlangatarata * estate, consisting of 23,000 acres. The i Maiigatarata estate failed to elicit competition,'and of seventeen lots, ranging' from 510 to 2540 acres, sixteen were passed in. The following was the only sale effected: Block Jo, 510 acres, Mr. Keith Gollan, Tamumu, ?>i- ; Snb seq>ently Messrs. de Ifilichet, M'Leod and Co., disposed of SOOO acres of tho estate at prices ranging from £7 to £10 per acre. The Wallingford estate was offered by Messrs. C. B.
