" On Wednesday tlio Wellington Homing Pigeon Society held an interval raco from New 'Plymouth.. Tho ■ birds .\vere libcratocl by .Mr. H. Beal, lion, secretary of the-New Plymouth .Homing Soeioty, at intervals .of ten minutes. The weather was dull, with south-west wind, when the birds were liberated. In spito' of this the winnind bird covered the distance, 158 miles air lino, , in shr. 16min. losec. The raco resulted as follows: —Mr. J. J. Elliott's "Faithful," 803 yards per minute; Mr. E, Griffith's "J3luo Spec," S9O yards per minute; Mr. A. Croskery's "Twilight," 876 yards per minutq; Mr. A. Clark's "Day Star," 856 yards per minute; Mr. C. Haynes's "No. 95," 810 yards per minute.
