October 15, 11.35 p.m.) Sydney, October 16, • In connection, with the wreok of the steamer Aeon at Christmas Island, the Court of Marine Inquiry found that the Aeon was unable to mako good tho courso set, which would have carried lier 20 miles clear of the island, owing to a strong westerly current, which was stronger than was allowed for. A good look-out was kept, but, there being little; sea, the Aeon was in the breakers bo-i fore tbey could bo detected. Tho Court did not feel itself justified in imputing negligence to the'captain.
