A Christchurch Press Association • telegram states that at the Utility Poultry Club's fourth egg-laying competition at Lin-, coin College the total number of eggs laid during tho'week ended October 9 was 1299, and the grand total to date is 23,309. The best totals for the week were': 'W. A.'Nixon's whito leghorns 40, D. M./.Peek's white leghorns 37, W.'A. Nixon's white leghorns 36, "New Zealand Poultry. Journal" Institute's whito leghorns 36, Mrs. J. Mills's white leghorns. 36, Rev. P. .G. /Brittan'srwhite leghorns 35, Mrs. W. 0. Sail's white leghorns 35, H. Reid's white leghorns 34, Miss E. Hearfield'.s whito leghorns 34, Allan Petrie's whito leghorns 34, W. T. Burbury's white leghorns 34. The following are the best aggregates to date: —T. Kennedy 771, A. Padman 713, "New Zealand Poultry Journal" Institute 699, Drury.and Rose 687, Allan Petrie 672, Master Ay. Sail 671, W. A. Nixon 648, It. Hawke 1 626, W. A. Nixon 609.
