•WHAT AMERICA VOTES FOR AGRICULTURE. The aggregate of tho appropriations of the United States Congress for tho Department of Agriculture for the year ending June.3o, 1909, was 11,672,106 dollars. There are also appropriations of 460,000 dollars for printing and binding, 3,000,000 dollars for Federal moat inspection, and 528,000 for the Adams fund (for experimental work), making a grand total of 13,660,106 dollars (over £3,130,000 sterling). Largo as is this amount, it represents only about 1J per cent, of the entire Federal appropriation, and a per capita expenditure of less than 20 cents.
