KARORI TRAMWAYS.
PROPOSED EXTENSION. A special-meeting of the Karori Borough Council was held last night t-o consider the following notice of motion tabled by Councillor Hammond:— "1. That the necessary steps be taken to raise a loan of £24,000 for the extension of the present tram service to the Recreation Grounds, and the discontinuance of the present bus service, or, "2. That a loan of £10,500 be raised for the extension of the present tram service to the Council Chambers and the discontinuanco of'the present bus service." •After discussion the motion was rejected, and the following amendment was carried:— "That the present tram service be extended to Makara Hill." There is nothing to indicate how the above proposal is to be carried out.
