FEATHERSTON.
Mr. Dincen, truant inspector, was a visitor to' Featheston on Monday. Mr. H. Williams has presented a riflo to the local Defence Riflo Club for competition. In tlio Magistrate's Court on Monday, beforo Mr. W. P. James, S.M., M. B. Tait, acrrior, sued E. J. Eiddiford for the recovery of £2, balance due on tlio cartago of sheep. A counter claim of £2 was made for the loss sustained by the death of a sheep during the transhipment. The principal claim being admitted, evidence was ueard in the counter claim. . His Worship ruled that ncgligcnco had ben proved on the part of the driver, and nave judgment for dofendant. '
